Slumps are unfortunately a part of the creative process. What Stoicism helps me remember is that a block isn’t a failure, it’s just a moment. Instead of getting stuck in frustration, I focus on what I can control: my effort, my discipline, and my mindset. I don’t wait for inspiration to arrive; I keep showing up and doing the work.

Can you share a time when embracing limits or constraints actually led to a more creative solution?

One of the most surprising truths about creativity is that limits often make us more innovative. For example, when we had to deliver a campaign under a very tight timeline, instead of seeing the lack of time as a blocker, I used it as a filter. We simplified the idea to its strongest core, and that constraint actually made the final result sharper and more effective. Stoicism reminds me that we can’t always control the circumstances, but we can control how we respond. In this case, the constraint became the spark that pushed us toward a better solution.
